Wills and Legal Services (WLS) Ltd has reached a remarkable milestone, raising £4,046,475.93 through its Wills Campaign in aid of the County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal, the country’s only charity dedicated to funding NHS hospital helipads and air ambulance bases.
To date, more than 33,000 landings have taken place on 57 hospital helipads built or upgraded through HELP Appeal funding, including at Hereford County Hospital. Each of these helipads enables critically ill patients to be transferred directly to the Emergency Department upon arrival by air ambulance, saving vital minutes and, in many cases, saving lives. The charity has plans to fund 40 more helipads.
A much-needed redevelopment project at Midlands Air Ambulance’s Strensham airbase was also funded by a donation of £2 million from County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal. It opened earlier this month and has been designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve crew wellbeing, and optimise the delivery of pre-hospital emergency care.
The WLS Wills Campaign provides clients with professionally prepared Wills while inviting a voluntary £40 donation to the HELP Appeal. These contributions have a direct and lasting impact on emergency care, helping hospitals across the country provide faster treatment for the most seriously ill and injured patients.
As Rob Bentley, National Clinical Director for the National Major Trauma System confirms:
“Hospital helipads have undoubtedly saved many lives and helped reduce the effects of lifelong disability by allowing rapid intervention of hospital specialist teams in the most timely manner.”
Tony Watson, Founder of Wills and Legal Services Ltd, says:
“We’re deeply grateful to every client who has taken part in our Wills campaign. Their generosity continues to help fund projects that have a tangible impact on people’s lives every single day. It’s a privilege to support the HELP Appeal’s incredible work.”
Sally Abbott, Head of Fundraising at the County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal, adds:
“The support from WLS and its clients has been phenomenal. These donations are a real lifeline for our mission in ensuring that every hospital that needs a helipad, has one.”
Wills and Legal Services’ Wills Campaign is available throughout the year for individuals who wish to arrange their affairs while supporting a cause that can affect so many lives. For a suggested donation of £40 per person to the HELP Appeal, people can have their Will professionally drafted by one of WLS’ expert paralegals located across the country. Those interested in participating can find more information or a paralegal local to them by visiting the WLS page or calling 01885 490380.
