Winning HELP Appeal auction bidder receives state-of-the-art Evans bike

Winning charity auction bidder, David Hicks-Beech has taken delivery of a new state-of-the-art bike from Evans Cycles after placing the winning bid at the HELP Appeal Charity Pro-Am Golf Day auction.

The bike was one of the standout lots in the charity auction held at Minchinhampton Golf Club in May this year. David’s successful bid helped raise vital funds for the HELP Appeal, which funds the development of NHS hospital helipads and improves emergency access for critically ill and injured patients across the UK.

David was delighted to receive the bike from Reuben in Evans Cycles’ Bristol store and is now looking forward to putting it through its paces.

He said:

“Winning it was a fantastic end to a memorable day and it is even more special knowing that my bid is helping the HELP Appeal fund lifesaving hospital helipads across the country.”

The HELP Appeal Charity Pro-Am Golf Day brought together 90 players and guests for a day of golf and fundraising. Following play on Minchinhampton’s Open Regional Qualifying Course, guests enjoyed lunch and a charity auction in the clubhouse.

Michael Henriques, Chairman of the HELP Appeal said:

“We were delighted that David has received his new bike. We hope he enjoys every moment with it, and we are extremely grateful for his generous winning bid. Every contribution made at the auction will help us continue improving emergency care so that critically ill patients are treated in the fastest possible time.”

The HELP Appeal would also like to thank event sponsors Rathbones and Butler Sherborn, along with the players, PGA Professionals, supporters, volunteers and everyone whose generosity helped make the event such a success.
